Fortunately for you, Facebook knows that unintentional removal of messages can take place and they have actually developed a simple means for any person with an account to go back and watch every little thing they've done on their account.

Recover erased messages

For you to get deleted messages on Facebook, you'll no doubt have to log-in to the Facebook account you wish to get messages from.

Once you are signed in, move to "Account Setup". This can be found in the leading right edge of the window.

Download Your Archive

To download your archive, proceeding from the previous step above, just click the "Download a copy ..." web link, and this will bring you to a web page where you can download everything you have actually done on your Facebook account since the inception of your account. Click on the green button that indicates "Begin My Archive."

Once you click the button, a tiny dialog box " poops up with the heading Request My Download and install,"  after you click on the "begin my download" link,  it can take a while (typically 2-3 hours) to collect all your details.

you will then be requested to head to the email account associated with your Facebook account and this is where your archive download will be sent. Once again, it may take 2-3 hours to complete the process depending on how heavy your download is. Once it does, click on the web link in the e-mail to download your archive.

And note before you could download the archive, you will have to reenter your password.

Finally, click the "Download Archive" switch that shows up after entering your password. Your archive will download to your computer in a zip format, Unzip it, then open up the documents called "index.".

The data containing your archived data will open and click.

Here you can locate your messages and other activities on your account

Since you are familiar with the message you are looking for, to quickly find the message, search by keyword phrase. Press "CTRL + F" or "F3" to access the keyword phrase search field and pit in a keyword from the message that's it. As soon as you locate the message, copy and paste the materials into a Word document to save.
