This hacker is going to delete Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook page and also livestream it
White-hat hacker, Chang Chi-yuan says he will hack into Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook account going so far as to delete it altogether, on September 30. If that wasn't enough, the self-proclaimed bug bounty hunter will do it all on livestream, which means his 26,000-plus followers (and the rest of the world) on the social media platform will be able to witness the hacking in real-time.
Bug-bounty programs are common among technology companies. Even Facebook has one. These bug-bounty programs reward hackers who are able to detect flaws in the system so these companies can then fix them. But usually, hackers tend to look for bugs inside systems, under the cover. It is only when they get rewarded that we get to learn about loopholes in a tech company's systems. Chang Chi-yuan's seemingly open dare to hack into Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook account may be the first case wherein a hacker would be carrying out, or at least trying to carry out the hack in front of a live audience. Whether or not he will be able to go through with it, is something only time will tell.
But going by Chang Chi-yuan's track record, he might just be able to pull off the stunt. A Bloomberg report says, Chang Chi-yuan is a minor celebrity in Taiwan who has successfully hacked into Apple and Tesla. He was apparently sued by a local bus operator after he hacked their systems and bought a ticket for just NT$1 (3 cents). Chang Chi-yuan has appeared on talk shows and is also listed on Japanese messaging service Line's 2016 bug-hunters' hall of fame.
To top that, Chang Chi-yuan says he doesn't even want to be hacker and only does it when he is bored and wants to earn some money.
As for hacking into Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook account, this won't be the first time someone would do it, should Chang Chi-yuan actually be able to do it. Also, it is not certain if he would be able to make some money out of it. Facebook has previously refused to reward Khalil Shreateh for hacking into Zuckerberg's account and posting a video of Enrique Iglesias on the wall of one of his college friends.
